July 6-7, 2013. “Chaika” autodrome. The third round of the Ukrainian Touring Car Championship.
The weather during this weekend pleased not only with the sun but also with the rain, so the ride was less controlled. During the Saturday’s race, Vladimir Marchenko was driving as the second best almost all the time. However, 2 minutes before the end of the race technical problems with the drive did not allow him to be among the winners. As the result he took the 5th place. The Sunday’s race, held under conditions of gale force wind and heavy rain, did not deter Vladimir Marchenko from taking the second place.
The winners and runners-up commented on their participation in the third round of the championship. Participation in the wet race was not easy for Vladimir Marchenko: “In order to keep positive emotions from the race in the rain, you should know how to drive in this weather and be able to do it. You need to know what trajectory of the car will be on a wet track. I am not experienced enough in this respect, therefore I received minimal pleasure”.
The silver medalist of the race, Vladimir Marchenko, commented on the fight: “I want to thank Maxim Cherednichenko: he was driving very carefully, attacked very correctly, there were no dangerous or improper actions on his part at the time of overtaking, although the track conditions were difficult”.
