On July 15 in the colorful city of Lvov, on a platform of “Arena Lvov” stadium, which is accepting matches of Euro2012, took place a second round of the Ukrainian Drifting Championship! Of course, not without the Marchenko Racing team.
Competition passed in two days. The first day was for registration and free trainings, and second – competition itself! It would be desirable to note that the location was very good, a convenient arrangement of Service Park, a correct arrangement of tribunes, a good direction of a track… Special thanks to the UDC team for the top-level infrastructure, developed by them!
Therefore, a training day – all is simple – we gone for a drive! We will not tell much, we simply present to your attention a video from the GoPro Ukraine team:
In the end of training day, organizers arranged a parade of participants on the central city streets of Lvov and a drift-exhibition in the most city center! Of course, it could not pass without burnouts on the peaceful streets!
Day was up to its end and everybody gone to have a rest before the race!
Morning of race was not strongly pleasing with the weather, it was cloudy, there was a rain at night, but it is necessary to go…
Nevertheless, as soon as all arrived on a track – the nature smiled to us with the sun and pleased us with good weather throughout the day!
Already t at 11 o’clock of morning the tribunes started to fill with spectators! Warmth and hospitality of Lvov citizens is noticeable! They are unreal affable people, who are pleasant to communicate! In spite of the fact that such event in Lvov was for the first time, tribunes were lighted up with shouts and applauses at each effective moment of race! Thank you, inhabitants of Lvov!
As usual, on a timing, which is invariably sustained on events of UDC, till 15:00 pilots have a possibility to train and to adapt to a track. Then – official opening of competitions!
All pilots drove on parade of participants, beautifully lined before the spectators, the hosts presented each pilot to spectators, and certainly, as well as it should be at all-Ukrainian scale events – the Hymn of Ukraine! After which, our pilot Vladimir Marchenko presented to Lvov the “flag” of our state! Blue and yellow smoke from under the wheels of his Nissan S14.5 with V8 engine!
After parade, all top pilots distributed autographs to fans! Interested persons there were in an improbable quantity! Even posters did not suffice for all of them! Once again, thanks to the inhabitants of Lvov for such reception!
Now we passed to the most interesting! Qualification! Here all is simple: 3rd attempts, everyone went to offset… Vladimir Marchenko passed all three attempts as on rails! Equally! In the style, with Kiss the Wall, a considerable quantity of a smoke and a correct trajectory! Also he earned the maximum 100 balls in qualification! In Russia would say: “Anikuya”—expression that meant— faultless passage of a track! Certainly, it is the first place in qualification!
At a briefing before twin races, judges made the decision to go on a scheme “Broken Top-32” , allowing all pilots, who passed qualification, to take part in twin races and to gain the points! And as all participants were 25 in number, 7 pilots, who took the first places in qualification, automatically passed in Top-16.
Waited till the series of Top-16, Sergey Gubanov (Odessa), who passed over Andrey Yatsenko (Kiev), competed against Vladimir Marchenko. Race was lasting not long; Vladimir Marchenko without special problems won a victory over Sergey at whom, after the finish, the car lighted up. Here the team of UDC and firefighters operatively worked up!
Denis Shamin (Odessa), who before had overcome the inhabitant of Kiev, Sergey Dyshkant, was the following on a way to a podium. Judges could not define the winner after the first start and appoint One More Time! In which Vladimir Marchenko managed to prove the superiority!
Fight for an exit in the final! The opponent, Vyacheslav Borovitsky (Kiev), to whom couldn’t resist any more skilled Denis Lisichenok (Kiev) and aggressive Felix Petrosyan (Odessa)! The first race, Marchenko guide, Borovitsky is aligned l in the end. Pilots interchanged the position. Dispersal… Oh my God! Marchenko! Vladimir Marchenko put the car sideways before Borovitsky! The distance, a simultaneous and close rerun, the finish held! Vladimir Marchenko is in the final!
In the final race, Vladimir Palariyev (Odessa), the first champion of Ukraine on a drifting, taken a second place in the First round of UDC 2012, technically crafted enough and aggressive pilot, is already waiting! The pilot, who had overcome in this round such pilots, as Alexander Grinchuk (Odessa) and Alexey Golovnya (Kiev)… A worthy final!
As a rule, before final races, there was a greeting of spectators, organizers and judges… All applauded… Pilots are coming on start!
Vladimir Marchenko, who had a first place in qualification, guides… Furidashi, Palariyev did not lag behind, a left arch is close, an improbable rerun, the finish “at doors”!
We interchange the position!
Dispersal, Marchenko hold the distance, Furidashi under concrete, in the first arch is a good distance, a rerun a bit further and… Vladimir Palariyev are turning! It is a zero! Marchenko as though foresaw this sharp turn and released the opponent in order to avoid the crash…
Vladimir Marchenko – the first place in the Second round of UDC 2012! Also, Vladimir Marchenko – the first place in qualification of the Second round of UDC 2012! Total victory of the team of Marchenko Racing! It is plus of 225 points in personal rank offset! Total, Vladimir Marchenko rose on a 3rd step of the championship!
