On December 15, 2014 F1 Intercity Istanbul Park Autodrome gathered 23 pilots from 12 countries in order to test the RXLites AWD cars. This event named as SuperCar Lites was organized by First Corner Ltd., Olsbergs MSE and Avitas Motorsport.
RX Lites category includes 4-wheel-drive cars with the mid-engine layout. The 2.4 liter 310 hp Ford engine is used as the power-transmission plant. Six-stage transmission, Sadev sequential gearbox. Program protection against engine excessive rotation.
The pilots had a jam-packed testing program. The day started with a briefing, where Andreas Ericsson (Olsbergs MSE) – the founder of the series – told us about the cars, future season and plans for the testing day. Each pilot could pass three test laps and six competing laps within the first three hours. In the afternoon there was another session comprising two segments of three circles each.
During my rides I was helped by my instructor – Andreas Ericsson, an Olsbergs MSE pilot, 2011-2012 rallycross European champion and the winner of 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship.
In general I was very satisfied with the testing results. Moreover, I received a lot of positive experience from working and communicating with the organizers, participants and the car.
