The first weekend of autumn appeared improbably drift-like! The Vinnitsa race for the Drifting Cup of the Mayor of Vinnitsa Vladimir Groysman and show races within the Capital Auto show Kiev program were waiting for us. Well, let us tell it in order!
On September 7-8 in airdrome of Kalinovka, not far from Vinnitsa, passed the Second stage of Grand Prix of Vinnitsa for the Drifting Cup of the Mayor of Vinnitsa Vladimir Groysman. Andrey Galchinsky, as always, pleased with organization, and all pilots, including Vladimir Marchenko, were populated in hotel “Gosteviya” after their arrival to Vinnitsa on the Friday.
The Friday, by event’s timing, was a training day. The configuration of a track remained former as at the first stage, unique addition – a track got a little bit stretched that made it even more high-speed! In training day the average speed of start=up of the car in drift was about 110-150 km / h. Successfully passed the training, some pilots left for a parade of participants on streets of Vinnitsa city. Unfortunately, the fighting Nissan car of the Marchenko Racing team has too ill fitting configuration for driving on public roads and we obliged to refuse to ourselves and to organizers in this sort of drives.
Saturday. Racing day.
Passed a small training and had listen to a briefing, we occupied turn for passage of qualification. Start, as usual – the first pass on the confident result, two the subsequent – to surprise all judges and to please spectators!
Had counted up the qualification points, judges represented a grid. The scheme – is not a full Top-16. The first opponent – Ekaterina Kozlova (Kiev)! Katya showed not bad results, but the big difference in power and experience played advantage for Vladimir Marchenko and Kozlova remained in Top-16.
Top-8. Yury Driftovsky (Kiev). Debuted in drift in the beginning of this season, Yury reached not small heights of piloting a drift-car. Nevertheless, Vladimir Marchenko won a victory and passed further.
In Top-4 Dmitry Illyuk (Odessa,) the before-term Champion of the Eastern Europe and the leader of the Ukrainian Drifting Championship, already awaited us. To drive beyond Illyuk is difficult enough because of a considerable quantity of a smoke, but our pilot coped with a problem! In second race, Dmitry is making a contact with a car of Marchenko, providing to Vladimir a pass to the final!
The Final! Alexey Golovnya (Kiev). Alexey was the winner on this track by results of the First stage on May 20 2012. Just a few points kept Vladimir of Marchenko from a won, but judges made the decision. Vladimir Marchenko – a second place of Gran Prix of Vinnitsa on Drifting!
Alexey Golovnya became the Champion of year on the version of VFDD, and Aleksandr Grinchuk (Odessa) occupied the third place on this event.
