The new track “Avanguard” located on the outskirts of Odessa has put pilots on an equal footing, urging to look for a perfect path and braking points during short workouts.
At the opening Marchenko clocked the fastest time and made the third time in qualification, and had a game face on for the race.
Damage to gearbox mount on sighting lap made it impossible to participate in this interesting race.
The mechanics fixed the damage and V. Marchenko went through the entire workout on Sunday.
Start of the second race from the last position: starting lights went out, first gear, second gear, second gear does not engage, third gear kicked in – engine speed had dropped, and ahead – a breaking away fast peloton…
Failure of gearbox did not allow driving in full force, but after a while Marchenko took the fourth position. Three laps before the end of the race due to the problems with the gearbox there was contact with the retarder preventing from finishing the race.
These are the results of the fourth stage.
High level organization of the next stage of Ukrainian Championship for circuit races in Odessa and the ability to change the configuration of the track holds out a hope of holding another interesting race in the following year.
