On May 20 the Marchenko Racing team took part in tournament for the Drifting Cup of the Mayor of Vinnitsa Vladimir Borisovich Groysman. Event passed in 2 days, the first – trainings and parade on the city streets, second – actually competition.
On Saturday, in day of trainings, the whole day on the airdrome was allocated! It was enough to drive well and to adapt to a track! But it happened so that the President of Association of Drifting of Ukraine Max Miller arrived in evening and as he was the main judge of competitions, changed the task and last clipping-point changed from external to internal that made a track more speedy, but on the other hand – everybody were already adapted to an external clipping. Well and as trainings were already coming to the end, we were forced to adapt once again to the track the next early morning of a day of competition.
In the after fall of training, the briefing on whom judges placed all points in tasks for race, was organized.
Morning of Sunday was pleasing with the sun and all pilots tried to leave early in order to adapt to the updated track. The 18 pilots applied for this stage, a two from whom didn’t pass on technical requirements, because of absence of a safety framework. It would be desirable to note also a considerable quantity of people, who came to look at the most entertainment races in the world, they were very numerous and that should please!
After the training session, a departure on a parade and representation of participants were organized!
At the end of it, judges spent a briefing to remind us how to pass a track in order to receive maximum of points.
The results of the first stage are:
By results of qualification, pairs were defined. Vladimir Marchenko were defined to Dmitry Illyuk, the winner of the first round of UDC 2012. The pilots came on start in their turn.
By results of races and in view of a more considerable quantity of errors of our pilot, Dmitry Illyuk passed further on a tournament grid, and following the results of race, he took a second place, conceded the 1st place in the final race to Alexey Golovnya.
The results: 1 place – Aleksey Golovnya (Kiev), a 2nd place – Dmitry Illyuk (Odessa), a 3rd place – Andrey Yatsenko (Kiev).
In addition, organizers thanked all participants of competitions.
The Marchenko Racing team is not upset, and, in future, will please fans of a drifting with the driving, technics and style!
